What ages do you tutor?
I tutor children aged preschool to 8th grade.
-
The Preschoolers I work with often come from families who are eager to help their child learn to read! We work on pre-reading skills (such as letter recognition and sounds, blending, and beginning reading). Our lessons are structured, multi-sensory, and phonics based. We make learning fun! Early literacy skills are foundational for lifelong academic success!
-
Elementary students often come to me because they are struggling with decoding skills and reading fluency, which also impacts reading comprehension. We assess to determine which areas are causing the most difficulty and confusion, and then follow a structured, multi-sensory, phonics based approach. Our methods are backed by the Science of Reading and are proven to help children learn to read!
-
Many Middle Schoolers continue to struggle with decoding, fluency, and reading comprehension – and we work on this in a way that doesn’t feel baby-ish or embarrassing. We also work together to support homework such as analyzing literature, writing essays, supporting a thesis, and more.

What is your rate?
I charge $40 per hour for my services; and require families to pre-purchase a tutoring package of 6-week sessions for $240. This provides consistency in schedules for my families. It's is important to note that most children who are struggling readers will need more than 6 weeks of tutoring to make considerable progress. After the first 6-week session ends, families would then need to pre-order another 6-week package to continue.
Cancelation policy: If a child is sick, or a scheduling conflict arises -- we allow each child to "make up" one missed tutoring session per 6 week session.
